Keira D’Amato spends a morning with PBRR
We enjoyed a visit from multiple American record holder Keira D’Amato this past weekend. She wanted to continue her Boston Marathon training while visiting friends in our area, and she chose the right group to join in with! Keira was happy to come to our Juno Beach Saturday run for her 20+ mile workout. A few of our runners joined in for as many miles as they could keep pace. It was enlightening and fun to see a top caliber athlete run and fuel. Keira was super personable, she shared great stories about the physio testing she has access to as a Nike sponsored athlete, tales about her teammates and some of her own best running memories.
We had a nice welcoming committee at Dunkin Donuts upon Keira’s return. She took as much time as everyone wanted to pose for photos and answer questions. This was a highlight for many in our group that might have only known of her and her accomplishments via social media or watching live coverage of big races. She liked our oceanfront route and the sights alongs the way, I would not be surprised to see Keira return to our area for more runs and more fun!
Classic By The Sea Turns 25
Hopefully, with a few days to go you’re registered to run the 25th Anniversary Classics By The Sea event. Held each year in Jupiter’s Carlin Park, this race allows runners to race on the amazing State Route A1A road, alongside the Atlantic Ocean.
Everything from our annual sea-themed long sleeve tech shirts to the fast course has become a favorite for locals and visitors. The race was often held prior to the Christmas holiday break, where runners competed wearing Santa hats and jingle bells. The race then became a first event of the New Year, seeing folks make good on fitness resolutions. Out of town guests have always loved the park, basically flat course and water views. Locals delight in being able to race against their family and friends to secure “bragging rights” for another year. It’s a special event for all involved.
If you’re coming out to run with us, spectate or volunteer at this year’s run, remember to arrive early. Although the 10k begins at 7:30 am and 5k at 7:40 am, the road will close considerably earlier than that. This is due to the Kid’s 1 Mile event beginning at 7:10 am. Jupiter Police will make sure you have clear roads to run on by closing A1A in front of Carlin Park early. This means that if you want to park at Carlin Park on either side of the road, we suggest you arrive around 6:30 am. The alternative once JPD closes the road is to park at Maltz Theater or the stores and lots on Indiantown Road leading back west to Publix. There are advantages to getting up early on race day!
Let’s make the 2025 Classics By The Sea a memorable and safe event – See you Saturday morning!
Jupiter High School track temporary closure
Beginning Monday, September 9th, the track at Jupiter High School will be temporarily closed. Repairs are being made to the stadium lighting. We will make note of reopening for runners and walkers here, on our GROUP RUNS weekly schedule page, and our social media accounts.

PBRR Runners at Boston Marathon
A good group of our runners made the trip to compete in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15th. With family and friends cheering and supporting, we had some memorable performances and first-time showings. The race was held in warm temperatures for this time of year in the Northeast.
